17 jawans killed, all LeT terrorists dead; Army Chief reaches Srinagar

Seventeen soldiers and four militants were killed today during an attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri town, defence officials said.

According to the officials, the gunfight has stopped and now search operations were on to scour the area for more possible militants.

Militants stormed a battalion headquarters of the Army at Uri, 102 kms from Srinagar, in the wee hours today, with explosions and heavy gunfire heard at the spot.
